A great trip out, especially when looking for something to do on a less than perfect day is to visit the osprey centre at Glaslyn at:

There are two hides equipped with professional birding telescopes trained on the currently occupied nest (July 2024).
This is a fantastically successful supported preservation and wildlife protection area in a beautiful part of North Wales with the steam railway passing Nearby. it's a unique experience and if you like birdlife it's well worth a visit
