A beautiful walk amongst rare temperate rain forest to on of the most beautiful Welsh waterfalls

This is an easy family walk on a good even trail and quite accessible,  about 15 minutes through lovely countryside. You go past some amazing natural temperate rain forest which is very rare and a privilege to see. At the end you are confronted with an amazing spectacle of this majestic 120 foot waterfall.

Visitor facilities

This is very much a relaxing self-guided visit for you to make whatever you will of it. You can park at Bont Newydd, with a clearly marked track to the falls. There is a small charge but you do have access to decent toilets and picnic benches.

If you haven't eaten then the nearest place where food can be purchased is the café in the tourist information centre at Abergwyngregyn village.

And for those brave souls, you can bathe in the pool at the foot of the falls, but the water is pretty cold year round. Do be aware that the rocks may be slippery and it is entirely at your own judgement.

And there's even a distillery to visit...

Whilst only been established for a few years, the Aber Falls Distillery is fast becoming a major Welsh Distillery. Even though the whisky it makes is quite young the depth of flavour belies its age, and personally I can thoroughly recommend it, especially if you like the fruitier styles of Speyside malt.

As with most new distilleries these days, they also make gin and vodka, but also they offer personalised gin making classes where they teach you how to make gin and allow you to distil your own bottle to take away from a wide range of natural herbs, spices and flavourings.
