Walking from Trefor to Tre'r Ceiri
Walking from Trefor to Tre'r Ceiri
A lovely, challenging walk to Tre'r Ceiri
Tre'r Ceiri is one of the finest iron age hill forts in the country and offers a fantastic walk and views from the top. It is a bit challenging but well worth it. This is one of the three large hills overlooking Trefor as part of the small range called "The Three Rivals".
There are a good range of public footpaths around the village and up and over these hills and this is one of the best routes. 3.1 miles up to the top of Tre'r Ceiri with it's amazing iron age hill fort and the stupendous 360 degree views from the top.
The top of Tre'r Ceiri is 485 m which represents a climb of 455m from the cottage or 1400 feet in old money.
So you know you've had a walk, but the views just get better and better all the way up. Just don't do what I did and think you could make your own path down.. Not my finest idea.
