What to do

If you love the outdoors this is one of the best places in the country to visit for walking, coastline, beaches, nature and historical monuments.

Walking across Yr Eifl Trefor

This is a lovely small walk that can easily be woven into other walks around the area ass it is both on the Wales Coastal Path as well as the North Wales Pilgrims way. It's a great option as it is about an hour's walk and you get great views on both sides of the Yr Eifl as you traverse through "the Saddle" between the largest and coast-side hills. It's also a very gentle walk because you are starting on the high side and when you cross the pass between the hills it's down all the way - DO be careful on the narrow lane on the way down it can have verry slippery patches....

Coastal cottage to rent dog friendly North Wales Coastal Path and Llyn Peninsula pilgrims Way

You start from the car park on the road from Llithfaen to Nant Gwrtheyrn, the Welsh Language Heritage Centre. and take the path on it's gentle incline towards the Rivals.

What's nice about it is you can combine it with a visit to the great café at the Welsh Language Centre, meet someone in  car there, or just carry on. Just look at an OS map.. On this occasion I just got dropped off at the car park and walked back. If you want, you can carry on to Pistyll Church and beyond.

And like so many upland areas you can start in mist and end in beautiful clear skies and vice versa..

This is a place of many visual pleasures great and small. Take them where you find them. The beauty of this walk is when you walk the the Saddle and the spectacular views open up in front of you between the hills, down to the sea, Trefor, and over to Anglesey and Snowdonia, and yes you can even see Mount Snowdon..
